2.1.1.1 Hierarchy Of Responsibilities

  1. The District Plan does not stand on its own as an isolated plan for resource management. The District Plan sits within a wider resource management framework, where plans, planning documents and regulations have been created at the national, regional and district levels. The District Plan gives effect to the relevant provisions of these documents and has been developed in consideration of the following Acts, plans, planning documents and regulations:
    1. Resource Management Act 1991;
    2. Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Act 2000;
    3. National policy statements on matters of national significance;
    4. National Environmental Standards (Regulations);
    5. Conservation Management Strategy;
    6. Regulations relating to the conservation or management of taiapure or fisheries;
    7. Water Conservation Orders;
    8. Regional policy statements and regional plans including regional coastal plans and regional land transport strategies;
    9. District Reserves Management Plan;
    10. Hauraki Iwi Environmental Plan (March 2004);
    11. District plans for adjoining territorial authorities;
    12. Management plans and strategies prepared under other legislation.
